Holy Moly

This week has been crazy, exciting, overwhelming, and everything in between. My sisters so graciously helped me get settled in and man am I glad they did. I can only imagine how hard it was for people to actually get situated down here by themselves. We came a day early and played in the parks on Sundaybefore I moved in on Monday. We spent the day at Magic Kingdom and recreated our favorite childhood picture (Elizabeth was a grumpy child). PS: the left is 2000 and the right is 2015.

Monday we woke up early and I signed in, found out where I work, where I live, and all that jazz. I have to be honest, things really didn't go as I thought they were gonna go. I'm living in an apartment complex I didn't really want to live in (thank goodness for good roomies though) and working in an area I didn't really want to work in, but that's part of the whole experience I guess! I got put in Downtown Disney which kinda bummed me out because I wanted to be in one of the actual parks like Animal Kingdom or Epcot, but Downtown is still really cool and I was reminded by my sisters that I can always pick up shifts in different parks. I'm working at Goofy's Candy Company (just what I need, candy). We went and checked it out today and it was surprisingly really neat. They have all sorts of candy, cake pops, rice krispie treats, and candied apples. Basically I'm spending the next five months in a sugar coma. Oh, and my outfit is really fun too! Just picture blue high waisted pants, a bright yellow and orange shirt, and a lime green hat. I'm gonna be looking snazzy.

the most beautiful sight

thanks for the words of wisdom, walt

Tuesday was casting and housing. The casting building is wonderful!!!! It's beautiful and big and has all these gold statues of Disney characters in the rotunda (silly me didn't even think about taking pictures). Also, I learned today that it is the only building on Disney property that has doorknobs from Alice in Wonderland. I got my schedule for the rest of the week there which included the next two days of doing absolutely nothing (and by nothing I truly mean NOTHING...we can't even get into the parks yet).

Wednesday was the most magical day because we got into Epcot FOR FREE!!! My roommates uncle works for Disney and was able to get us in for the day since we all had nothing to do. We spent most of the day waiting in line for soarin (but it is always worth it), drinking sodas from different countries, traveling around the world showcase, and watching illuminations. The world showcase is one of my favorite parts about Disney World because it's amazing to see all the different cultures and say that you ate dinner in China and dessert in France. lol where else could that happen?!?!

THE BALL

italy's soda=non bene

my first, and definitely not last, french macaroon

Thursday was not as exciting as wednesday but we did discover that every time we use the oven or stove in our apartment, the smoke alarm goes off :-) it's so fun!

Friday was TRADITIONS DAY! Traditions day is the best day because 1) you learn about the history of Disney and how to be a great cast member 2) you get your fist pair of ears and 3) you get your NAMETAG and officially become a cast member. Mickey came in our classroom, gave us our nametags, and everyone beamed with joy! We watched a lot of videos during traditions that I may or may not have cried once ((or more)) at. The videos were all so moving and emotional and really showed how truly amazing it is to work for Walt Disney World and the Walt Disney Company! We celebrated becoming cast members by visiting Magic Kingdom Friday night. We got there later, waited an HOUR AND A HALF for peter pan ((not worth it, don't do that)), and stayed for the wishes firework show before making our hour long bus ride home. I hate busses. Being in the park for even an hour or two is so worth it though.

eek!!!!!!

bucket list: stay in the cinderella suite

the castle has cable TV

hey look at how cool this mosaic is under the castle

Saturday was the longest day I've had in forever. After running on three hours of sleep and sitting through seven hours of training I decided to curl up in bed with netflix, cookies&cream ice cream, and a nap. :-)
