This whole week has been full of training; waking up early, going to bed late, and not sleeping...It's more exhausting than I thought it was going to be but all so magical and fun at the same time.
Sunday was extremely confusing... long story short I thought I was doing a training class but was actually in Goofy's getting hands on training all day. Y'ALL my costume is pretty great. It's a little too big right now because I didn't know my pant size ((who knew pant sizes were so confusing)) but it's still great, and tacky, and wonderful, and very Disney-esque. I LOVE IT. We got the run down at Goofy's, met everyone ((who were extremely nice and welcoming)), and walked around downtown a little. I know I said in an earlier post that Goofy's was a candy store but it's so much more than that. Yes, we sell candy, but we also chocolate dip and create Disney character caramel apples and rice krispie treats ((pics to come))! I'm excited because even though I'm in merchandising, I'm able to make these treats and sell them to guests as well. **cue hannah montana** It's the best of both worlds.

Monday was full of more training and classes. As soon as I think I know it all, we have another class and I learn something completely new. I'm in awe of the fact that Disney cares so much about training and making sure their cast members know exactly how to do tasks and interact with guests. I haven't ever had a job where I've had so much training before I actually start working.
Tuesday was my tour of Downtown. Basically we learned where everything was, how to tell guests where to go if they have a question, and all that jazz. I met THE COOLEST Australian girl on the tour and it was fun to talk about Australia and the differences between here and there. It was hilarious. Here are some things she didn't understand/ I learned: 1) She thought the "mustard" on top of hot dogs was cheese 2) She didn't understand the concept of liquid cheese and said that all the Australian cheeses were white and not orange 3) Our bread is way too salty and sugary ((what's new America)) 4) The person that lives in your room is your roommate and the people that live in your apt. are your "flat-mates". I don't think I will ever stop wishing I had an Australian accent and/or lived in Australia. I LOVE THEM. I also finally got to see Erika today!!!! Erika is my friend from Texas Tech who just so happens to be doing the program too! I've been anxiously awaiting her arrival the past week and she finally made it! Now I have a little bit of Texas here with me!

Wednesday I had work all. day. long. It's been a good two months since I've worked and gone to school, so getting into the habit of working again is going to take some time to get used too. I learned how to make cotton candy, candy apples, and how to do the caseline ((which is full of the rice krispie treats and character apples)). It was a pretty fun day! Wednesday night we decided to resort hop and watch the fireworks from the contemporary ((which is really neat and FREE so its a win win)). We ventured to the contemporary and polynesian and I totally forgot about what GORGEOUS resorts they are. We ordered drinks, sat in comfy chairs, and talked and laughed for quite a while...it's so fun learning and hearing about other peoples lives and where they come from. We also may have spent about an hour trying to get a panorama selfie of us too...

Thursday I woke up early and had the pleasure of accompanying my cousins at Universal Studios ((shhhh don't tell Disney)). I was pleasantly surprised with the park itself. I mean nothing compares to Disney World, but Universal was clean, the rides were really fun, and they have the Wizarding World of Harry Potter of course. WOW is the only word I can use to describe harry potter world. It is probably one of the coolest things I've seen in a while ((and I'm spending a semester in Disney World so that says a lot)). You walk in and it for real feels like you are in Diagon Alley. The music, the buildings, the people, the food. Everything makes it feel like you are there. We also watched the Fear Factor LIVE show and Tyler and I volunteered to help out during it. Our role was to make it rain and shoot balls at the contestants as they were doing their stunts to try and make it harder for them. We also got front row seats to the show and got to witness two teams try and eat a "smoothie" of sour milk, bad meat, nasty seafood, and mealworms. Surprisingly no one vomited but they did gag and I kinda did too...it was disgusting.

Friday was my first day training on dip station at Goofy's which is essentially making the fun sweets and treats. It reminded me of culinary senior year and that made it really easy to pick up! We made caramel apples, caramel nut apples, mickey/minnie apples, mickey cake pops, and so much more I can barely remember. It ended up being a fun night except for the fact that I didn't get home until 2AM. :-)

Saturday I finally got to go to Animal Kingdom!!!! I've been waiting almost two weeks to go and it finally happened. I LOVE all the ruggedness and adventure there is in the park and it makes me want to travel and see the world. Last time we were at Disney I was too scared to ride the terrifying Mt. Everest, but I manned up this time and finally got to ride it. It's probably one of the best rides at Disney. We also met chip and dale and baloo in Animal Kingdom along with riding the Kilimanjaro safari ride ((which is like my all time favorite ride at Disney)). For those of you that have never been on the safari ride it's like riding through a zoo with no cages. The animals roam free and can come up to your truck and occasionally you'll have to wait for them to cross the road (like the giraffes did today). ALL DAY today Erika and I had been craving turkey legs for lunch. We patiently waited for lunch time but we couldn't find any of them at Animal Kingdom so we headed to Hollywood Studios to find them there. We were so excited for this turkey leg and so starving that Erika and I practically ran to the stand to order our delicious turkey leg...only to get to the stand and find out that they were 15 DOLLARS (bummer, I know)!!!! Now, since we're poor CPs we opted out, but we will budget and WE WILL be back. We also rode tower of terror and rock 'n' roller coaster but we were so sad at the turkey leg incident it wasn't fun (lol just kidding it was a blast)

This weeks thoughts:
1. walking 10 minutes to do laundry is not fun
2. always bring an umbrella with you because it will pour on you during your 15 minute walk home at 2AM :-)
3. It's kinda cool to think about how I'm actually in Walt Disney World, and I'm actually a cast member, and this is actually my life right now. THAT IS SO COOL
4. always be on time to the bus because running to catch it is awkward
5. I hate strollers more than I hate anything else
6. I believe I have eaten at least two PB&Js a day the two weeks I've been here. I don't know if that is healthy or not. Jelly=fruit ... am I right??
7. I play a game when I walk to the bus/work to try and guess where everyone works based on their costume
8. I miss my car
