One thing they need to prepare you for while you’re on the DCP is how absolutely terrible it is to leave the program and go back home to reality.

  • They don’t tell you that post Disney sadness is a real thing.

  • They don’t tell you that people aren’t as happy as they are in Disney any where else.

  • They don’t tell you that you’ll miss going to the parks before and after work to grab food or ride a ride because Disney is in your backyard.

  • They don’t tell you that you’ll actually miss closing with all your fellow CPs and giggling about funny guest interactions.

  • They don’t tell you that you are constantly thinking of Disney and seeing little hints of it EVERYWHERE.

  • They don’t tell you that you actually crave confectionary rice crispy balls like an addict.

  • They don’t tell you that you’ll tear up every time you hear wishes come on and you’re not actually at the magic kingdom.

  • They don’t tell you that you’ll want to plan your next reunion trip even though you are poor and have school.

  • They don’t tell you that you catch yourself talking about Disney all the time ((and sometimes your friends get tired of it)).

  • They don’t tell you that you’ll miss shifts that end at 1AM because that means late night dinner with your roommates.

  • They don’t tell you a lot of things and they really need to tell you that Disney gets into your heart and never ever leaves.

The beginning of June was rough and I was in a pretty big funk. Like I said, I was missing Disney a lot ton. It really hit me hard that I wasn’t going back to Disney for a while when I moved back to Lubbock and started my summer obligations. I came to Lubbock after spending five months surrounded by happiness and something to do at every moment of the day because of the parks…to a dirt town ((that I really do love)) that was empty and lonely because everyone is home for the summer. The first two weeks I was here I was regretting every dicision I ever made to get here. I was regretting not extending through the summer in Disney, I was regretting taking an internship in Lubbock, and I was regretting not staying home in Allen. Honestly, being home with my parents for a summer was sounding a lot more appealing than staying in Lubbock for the summer. After many long talks with my mom and sisters I decided to not give up just because I wanted to be somewhere I couldn’t be and to stick to my promises ((feel like that is kinda the theme of the whole summer)). So here I am, in lubbcok for the summer, doing an advertising interning with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, working, and taking summer school. Once I got into the swing of things and started getting settled I realized that it’s really not that bad out here. I luckily have a lot of my friends and it’s fun to find places to go and things to do in west texas. Counting down the days until everyone is back and football season starts! ((wreck em))

My friends and I started this traditional last year to float the river down in San Antonio every summer. This summer we tried out the comal river in New Braunfels and it was a blast! Besides the fact the river took a lot from us like my gopro, sunglasses, a flask, belly button rings, lighters, coolers, and more; it was still a grand time and we made a bunch of fun memories! See ya next year!

is that a Disney point I see?!
didn’t realize Disney got their parking costumes from La Quinta shower curtains
if you are ever in SA please please please eat at Rosario’s
the river took a lot from us but we gained a bunch of good memories
rachel is so crafty
rudy’s bbq was a must because we were dead after floating
I’ve never been more proud of tan lines in my life
rachel brought me carbs in bed 🙂
explored some caves and panicked a little
we jumped on the bed……
…..and it resulted in one of my favorite pictures of all time
